이 봉사 프로그램은 몇명의 미국에 거주 하거나 유학중인 한국 학생들과 환경청 파견 근무중이시던 부모님을 따라 콜롬비아 국제 학교에 재학중이던 두 형제에 의해서 시작 되었습니다. 미국 뉴저지에서 이들이 처음 만났을 당시 우리가 더 나은 세상을 위해 조그마하게 할 수 있는 것이 없을까 하는 작은 마음으로 시작하여 일년 동안 작은 정성을 모아 콜롬비아의 낙후된 유치원 한곳과 과학 중고등학교에 필요한 물품을 적게나마 지원하는 발걸음을 내딛게 되었습니다. 우리 학생들은 이후 몇 년 동안 정기적으로 콜롬비아를 방문하여 의미 있는 시간들을 가지고 교실에서 배울 수 없는 소중한 경험들을 하였습니다.
This project began with some Korean students who are studying at USA and Colombia. Korean students from US boarding school and Colombia gathered in New Jersey, USA and started to plan a project with a little question of ‘what can we do to make a better world?’ They gathered fund for a kindergarten and a science school in Colombia. With fund, they supported school supplies and science equipment to a kindergarten and a science school. Students did very meaningful volunteer work at Colombia for several years regularly. They learned lots of thing that they could not experience at classroom.
